SYNOPSIS
In November of 2015 the Spanish director Alberto Garcia offered in the form of a collaboration an opportunity to promote art in Borgarnes through film media.  Using Social Media and e-mail we made our arrangements, organized meetings and assigned tasks.  Remotely we connected artists, administrated and organized, created storyboards and set up interviews.  Alberto arrived in January of 2016 and worked together with a friend Kuba Urbaniak who conducted the interviews and assisted Alberto with equipment and translating.  Friends from our neighborhood Halldor Gunnarson and Geir Kondrad translated the context of the interviews as our team was far from fluent in Icelandic.  Our first small success was screening our film at the Safnahus in Borgarnes in March of 2016.   The response of the audience was our realization of the potential of our work. Still there were many facets which needed to be addressed and milestones to be completed before we could conceive completion.  Firstly our music needed to be polished and licensed. Lastly the translations for the subtitles were incomplete.  Alberto would need to return to Iceland to refine the footage and we would need to find a musician/sound-engineer.  Last April of 2016  I launched a modest crowdfunding campaign through the Karolina Funds to enable the completion and we reached our goal.  In January of 2017 Alberto returned to Borgarnes to work together with the American musician and sound engineer Erik Rex to complete the short film about art in Borgarnes Pourquoi Pas Borgarnes.  All parts of this film were made in Iceland together with friends and the community.
